Adding a description to your product
If you'd like to add some pip and pizzazz to your product's description (or, at least, some text styling and hyperlinks), it's as easy as clicking your mouse (apologies to our fingerless creators).
Simply highlight the text you'd like to stylize, and a menu for styling will appear.
You can use this menu to:
- Make your description bold, italicized, or underlined
- Create a hyperlink
- Create Headers
- Change the font to Times New Roman (to dazzle your friends!)
- Create bullet points
When you've turned your product's description into advertising copy worthy of Mad Men (or at least, FrustratAd Men) don't forget to Save Your Changes!
Add a video or photos
When you hover your mouse over the left side of your product description, you'll see a + pop up. Click that, and you'll see a new option to add a photo or a video (via a link from Youtube, Vimeo, or Instagram.
There's more—Give description for each file in the product
Just like how you can give a description to your product overall (which we have detailed above), you can give descriptions to each file within the product. Descriptions per file can be useful for explaining supported devices and software or otherwise helping your audience understand how to use your product.
Once you've uploaded your file, hover over the file name in the Content section and look for a pencil icon to the right. Clicking on that icon will roll open a drawer where you can change name of the file and give it a description.
After adding a description, click the 'Check' icon and you're done! Don't forget to save the product using the save button in the upper-right corner of the page.
Your audience sees this description next to the file in their library.
At the moment, the description only appears on the web version of the library, not the libraries on your customers' mobile apps, but adding this feature to mobile is on our roadmap.
